Obama -A Chance for Change

Obama is change. I followed Obama through his campaign trail up till the time he was declared President of the USA. I was proud because for once some one who understands me; someone who comprehend the obstacles and struggles that one must succumb too, to emerge as a success was running not for his own merit but to bring about a wind of change. Even when the media was having a field day as to who this African American was; I was watching.
There were many who doubted and did not have faith. Some one sent me an email claiming Obama was the Antichrist and ask that I forward it along; which I did not. Where is the validity in that? Some times people say things and because it sounds right they expect you to take action. Well, I don't operate like that, so I did not forward the email. Others use to call my house asking me to vote for such and such because Obama said this and Obama said that. These callers treated me like I was hiding under a rock and had no idea what was going on. How ridiculous! It was also noted that Obama had no experience in the areas of international matters and dealing with terrorists among other things yet; I was still supportive. Everyone deserves a chance to prove his or herself. Campaign after campaign he proved that he had great leadership quality. He did not stoop to smear tactics instead he handled his self in a manner which was quite remarkable and dignified.
At a time when others are trying to impose hidden agendas, going as far as trying to redefine what constitutes a family. Michelle Obama and their two young daughters are setting the perfect example for all. Obama is the ideal role model for young men everywhere especially the African American men. It's time to pull up your pants and take charge. Be the man you are destined to become. If Obama can do it, so can you. The jig is up! Enough with the excuses already! Clean up your act because a new day has dawned and change is on the horizon.Change is here embrace it.
On election day, doubt began looming on the horizon. I was torn and confused.
Before I cast my vote I had to remind myself about the issues that these candidates represent and decide who would be the ideal candidate to bring about the change that the world needs so badly. True, experience is a great teacher but what we need is some one fresh. Some one who was not born with the proverbial silver spoon in his month but some one who knows first hand the perils one must endure to making it in this life. After all this reflecting I cast the vote the led to the Presidency. I was about to cast my vote started having doubts. Sometimes people say things and if we are not strong we can be easily persuaded to deviate from our own convictions and beliefs.
